Luckily, our Camp-Resort is closely located to many unique Texan cities. Just a mere 35 minutes away, one can find the city of Fredericksburg, Texas! And if you only have a day to spend in Fredericksburg, it’s sure to be a busy one spent exploring different must-see attractions. Keep reading to find out about some of our favorites!

Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

An enchanting site indeed—Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is the perfect place for a family who loves the outdoors. Here you can hike, backpack, picnic, scope out wildlife, and more! With around 11 miles of hiking trails, there’s a ton to explore if you’re up for the challenge. Climb to the top of the huge pink dome for a breathtaking view. Plus, kids 12 years old and under can get into the park for free!

Rockbox Theater

Make a pit stop at the Rockbox Theater if you’re up for some musical entertainment! Rockbox is a live music venue that has entertained thousands of people since it was founded just over a decade ago. While mostly known for playing rock ‘n’ roll and music from the 1950s-1960s, Rockbox has since broadened its horizons to add other music to the lineup as well. With each show being unique in its own way, you’ll be able to find one that best fits your family’s preferences.

Willow City Loop

Another must see while day tripping in Fredericksburg is the Willow City Loop—often noted as one of the premier springtime destinations in the state of Texas. Take a peaceful, scenic 13-mile drive with your family to see all of the beautiful flower-filled meadows and valleys. Many would claim that this iconic loop is a must-see, especially during the peak wildflower season in the spring during the end of March and beginning of April. The fields of Texas bluebonnet and Indian paintbrush are sure to leave you breathless.

Pioneer Museum

Don’t forget to visit the Pioneer Museum if you’re interested in learning more about the history of the Texas Hill Country’s German roots that stretch back to its founding in 1846. Tour the museum’s 11 historic structures on their 3 acre complex that showcase the region’s German roots through various authentic artifacts, furniture, photographs, and more. You’ll leave with a much better understanding of the people and culture that made the city of Fredericksburg into what it is today!
